HS Academics - Bible

The primary purpose of the Bible Curriculum is to develop an intimate knowledge of God through an in-depth, thorough study of the content of Scripture.  Like the activities of prayer, Bible reading and chapel, "Bible" is not to be taught simply as a means of maintaining our uniqueness from public school. The curriculum is not made Christian simply because of the incorporation of Bible classes.  The curriculum becomes Christian as Biblical principles are integrated into every subject area.

Recognizing that our central focus is to glorify God, the Bible curriculum is obligated to respond in obedience to His written laws.  An important Scriptural admonition is that parents transmit Biblical truths to their children; in the fulfillment of the school's obligation to support parental responsibility, basic Bible truth must be taught.

The responsibility of the teachers of Bible is to thoroughly equip students for serving God in all parts of His kingdom, to stress practical application of Scriptural truth to life, to integrate Scriptural concepts into all academic areas, and to expose students to the transforming capacity of the written Word and Holy Spirit.

New in 2007, a Community Services Projects Program was implemented whereby all high school students are to take part in community service as a graduation requirement. The benefits of this program are endless. Not only are people being helped, but students who give of themselves will be blessed in return. This program takes place outside of the regular school day.
